Microsoft Teams: File Image preview in chats and channels Beta
Data as of 2 hours ago (26 October 2026)
This item was no longer present in the roadmap feed as of 25 October 2026. Microsoft removes entries for several reasons — cancelled, merged into another entry, or reorganised — and the feed does not say which.
Description
When you share documents (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF) in chat or channel conversation, you can see a thumbnail image of the file in the thread. This lets you preview the file’s content without opening it and find the file you need quickly.
Change history
Added to the roadmap 7 May 2024. Tracked here since 1 September 2026. Earliest target we recorded: June 2024 (since tracked — Microsoft may have moved it before we started watching).
Nothing has changed on this item since tracking began on 1 September 2026. Changes appear here as Microsoft updates the feed.
